Growth Mindset v. Fixed Mindset By Victor De Luna Emilio Morales Jesse Guzman The big idea was Originated from the Growth and fixed mindset that students needs a proper environment to get a better grade. For example if the student is around an environment that encourages them that they will succeed. Carol Dweck study from 2007, she mentions, ” It was shown that some of the students will show effort with work with other students or teachers, even teachers has to admit that students with growth mindset could show some processes like hard work, strategies, focus and persistence”(parg.6). This evidence actually connects to our groups problem like we don't know how to do in this project then we ask our teacher how to do it, when we understanding about this project it made us work hard and focus. But not all students have that experience, the kids who has fixed mindset does not get use to working in groups and people actually thinks that working in groups is a bad idea and shows little bit of processing like focusing and stay in task. This makes teachers worried about students collaborating with other students because they might not stay on task. When you reading this essay, you wondering why does this information so important or matters because to show or explain about the consequence about Growth mindset and fixed mindset about working in groups and in the proper environment. The origin of thinking that you don't have to work hard is based on the idea that you're just born with talent brains based on growth and fixed mindset. When Carol Dweck visiting a soccer team from England she notice that players are not training well in a proper environment . She always thinking “Does promising soccer players would reach their full potentials” (paragraph.1). Carol Dweck mentions in an article called The Effort Effect, “On some level, Faulkner knew the source of the trouble: British soccer culture held that star players are born, not made. If you buy into that view, and are told you’ve got immense talent, what’s the point of practice?” (Paragraph. 2). Carol Dweck also mentions in a video about Growth mindset and fixed mindset, “I analyzed students brains based on growth and fixed mind, for the growth mindset it shows that the student's brain is all red it means that it cause too many errors, and for fixed mindset it was all green it means is mostly doing nothing”(2:02). While you're reading this essay and you’re wondering why origin has to do with Growth and Fixed mindset, to show that even experience professional soccer players need a proper environment to train, even though players are born not made that they started training as a kid but also they needed a proper environment . The two heads represent the fixed and growth mindset, they have different color. Fixed is the color green because the brain is doing nothing. The Growth mindset is the color red because the brain caused too many errors. The words of each heads means that describe their abilities. The two symbols that our project will be focused on are Big Idea and Origin. Rene Descartes Quiz Response Descartes philosophy shows that if we see, smell, hear, taste, feel, etc means we exist. To prove that we exist you have to think about it and since you are thinking therefore you exist. Also just because we see something doesn't mean that it is what we think it is.For example in the packet of Rene Descartes it explained how he saw men walking across the street but he didn't know thy were men,he thought they were men because they had hats and coats. He thought they were men because growing up we see men dressing like that and women dressing with dresses, heels, tight jeans etc and since he didn't see them wearing dresses, heels, etc he jumped to the conclusion that they were men.But since the thought about them being men and not women then that means it is irrefutable truth, just like the tree vs the mushroom.
This picture represents how the little princes planet is small compared to the sun so he can see the sunset whenever he wants unlike earth where we have to wait for the sun to set in order to see the sunset. This shows exploration confronts the unknown because it shows how when the little prince went to earth he had to confront the fact that it was different on his planet so he couldn't see the sunset when he wanted too. I Too Sing America Poem Emulation
I too By Victor De Luna I, too, sing America. I am sibling who is cared for the least. The whites discriminate me for being a colored person When their fellow whites come, But I don’t mind, I keep living my life And keep growing stronger In the future, We will all be equal not colored or white When there are whites. No one will have the guts To tell me, “This is for whites only” Then. After all, They’ll see how blacks are just as human as whites are And feel guilty- I, too, am America
